About
Hi there, I’m Tim Prindle. I grew up in a small town in upstate NY, where everyone knows your name. I began my horse career around ten years old, cleaning stalls and grooming in exchange to ride at an Arabian farm. Later, I became involved in driving Belgian Drafts. Wagon rides, sleigh rides, pulling logs, you name it. Then I began dabbling in horse training – simple trail riding horses – getting them used to loud noises or plastic bags or other various items they deemed monsters.
After high school I moved to Chile for a while. Here, an ex-Chilean cavalry officer took me under his wing. He taught me equitation and other forms of military horsemanship type skills. During my stay in Chile, I first became introduced to horseshoeing. Tenant farmers put up with me as I nosed around them. Finally, they let me make an attempt at shoeing.
Returned to the states to begin Pre-Veterinary studies at Texas A&M University. Spent a summer horse training internship program at Flag Is Up Farms where I was tutored under the guidance of Monty Roberts. Following summers, I returned to California to gentle mustangs at Return To Freedom Ranch.
Year 2000 brought a landslide of change. I left Vet school to attend Farrier school at Cornell University. Later I moved to California permanently to apprentice under two farrier experts – Keith DeYoung and Joe Bell. A year and a half later I started my own business and currently reside in the Los Angeles area.
